Resort Details and Information

About the Resort

The main building has 8 guest rooms that all face the ocean. There are 4 standard rooms on the lower level. These rooms can be equipped with either a queen bed or two singles.

On the middle level there are two suites – one at each end. They also can be equipped with either a queen bed or two single beds and the front room of the suite has a futon that folds out to a queen bed.

In between the two suites is the dining area and bar. Most people opt to eat meals on the full veranda in front of the dining room to take advantage of the view and sea breezes.

The top floor is configured much like the middle floor. There is a standard room at each end and in the middle, instead of a dining room, there is a large game/rec room with a small bar, pool table, foosball table, television and board games. There is a reading leave-and-take library
on the back wall.

The dive shop is down close to the water, and over the dive shop is an apartment with two
bedrooms. The apartment has a small kitchen and living room. The two bedrooms each have their own bathroom with shower. All resort bedrooms are air-conditioned.

Resort on the hillside
The resort is on the side of a mountain, which means the view is simply magnificent.

Travel

Makes me Realize how much I haven't seen

From diving to breathtaking views and resort grounds to activities and travel to and around Guanaja, you'll find it all at Clearwater Paradise Resort.

The Grounds

Parrot

Diverse Wildlife

The fruit trees attract birds. We have a flock of parrots that seem partial to the almond trees and if you’re lucky they might come visit. Small lizards and geckos run amok (they’re always trying to get into the hummingbird feeders. The island has iguanas that are somewhat difficult to see, and we have crabs (everywhere). If you’re a seafood/crab lover you can don a pair of leather gloves and go down to the path around sunset and catch dinner—or just ask one of the staff to do it—they love doing it! Yajaira—our cook makes an excellent crab soup.
Mango Tree

Abundant Fruit Trees

We have mango trees, papaya trees, avocado trees, coconut trees, hogplum trees, almond trees, and banana trees (not really trees). You would not think that a place that is around 82 degrees year-round would have seasons, but we do, and that means the fruit trees have their seasons. We can’t say what will be hanging and ripe but you can count on something.

Resort Services

Clearwater Paradise Resort started out life as a scuba diving resort and diving remains a primary focus. We have a fully equipped dive shop with rental gear for diving and snorkeling. We have a few steel tanks for you old-school divers and we can mix Nitrox. There are two dive boats – the panga that can comfortably handle 6 divers and the 43’ Portofino capable of handling many more.

We have kayaks and paddleboards that are free to use and the staff is always willing to help get them in and out. The pool is ideal for cooling off, rinsing salt water off dive suits and for practicing diving or snorkeling techniques.

Because we are a small resort, our staff is small. Our staff is what makes the place shine, and most of them have been with the resort for many years and they will go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Being located in such a remote location means that it can be hard to find a lot of everyday items that we take for granted in the US but if there is anything you need or want and it can be found on the island, the staff will find it.

Dive Boat

Game Room is Time for Unwinding

Located on the top floor and boasting the best view in the resort is the game room. Here, after a long day of diving, snorkeling, or hiking you can relax with your favorite beverage and play a game of pool or foosball, or perhaps darts. There is a TV where you can catch a game, or you can hook up your camera and show off the day’s pictures and videos. We have board games, dominoes, and a library of donated books.
